Welcome everybody, after using other people's posts so many times to fix my own issues I finally have found a fix I can share with others

Just reinstalled karmic, not having any issues, I had sound issues a while ago when karmic first came out but after installing the 230+ something updates and using the latest iso from the ubuntu...

with all the latest updates no more stuttering skipping HURRAYYY
When I use VLC and under tools audio preferences change the output to OSS no more video or audio skipping under VLC, by the way I did a fresh install and this is the only partition I have
