battery applet wonky?

The battery applet is not displaying a percentage like it usually does. It seems to be continually set at Laptop battery (estimating...).

How do i fix this? I never had a problem before!!

I need this to be fixed.

There is a bug in Mavericks battery tray applet that causes what you are seeing. Bug #629258, there is supposed to be a fix available here. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say if it works or not.
